While doing a routine check, I noticed some points in my Awstat. But the most that impressed me today was on how much this site got traffic from many different search engines.
If I should rank them from last October, it would be:
- Yahoo
- Aol
- Live
- MSN
- Search
- Ask
- Altavista
- Lycos
- Netscape
Google is definitely where the flow comes from, that is why sulumits retsambew is also targeting this particular search engine and you should be optimizing for it primarily. In this case, I do not optimize for Yahoo or Live and no wonder they gave me less visitor. But surely all of these engines work differently.
For a sample, Yahoo, seems to be very tickle about page titles, matching of keyword in urls and a link in the Yahoo Directory. I think since they made a lot of money from that directory. Google not so much, these days, it seems to me. To be honest, I don’t watch MSN or Live that closely at all. I still love Google and I have also made my account profile there.
