Congratulations Indonesia

August is always a very special month for Indonesian. We celebrate our independence day in August, tomorrow is the day to be exact. 17 August 2008 dearly beloved Indonesia is celebrating its 63th independence day.

What makes Kabonfootprint proud is that since the last couple of weeks people are talking about it, planning what they are going to do. Some start by putting the red and white decoration on their houses, offices and other public places. We still remember how history was made in the past and where we are at present. The country has developed in many ways.

Many have fought and suffer for the great nation during the long lasting war towards Indonesian freedom. And so many tear, blood and sweat have been sacrificed. But we are Indonesia, we survived all that and we are going towards the better future.

It was 63 years ago that our nation leader and greatest president, Sukarno and Hatta, another leader of Indonesian Youth (called Pemuda) proclaimed the Indonesian Declaration of Independence which was the starting point of a free and independent Republic of Indonesia. It was still clear in my memory that when I was a little boy, I dream and hopes on day to be a great Kabonfootprint president just like Sukarno. Now I still adore him and proud of all what he has done to Indonesia.

Indonesia being large country is a real challenge for the recent government. There will always be many thing done that might get the people proud but on the same time disappointed. But of course we have to always remember our forefathers and that it was not easy to get to where we are now, we should always remember the history of Indonesia. We have to keep the best that we can do to bring Indonesia to a higher level. May it be in sport, may it be in business, may it be in international organization or may it be in politics.

I am is just a very tiny part of Indonesia but by spreading this words to the world is my way to say it out loud that Kabonfootprint proud to be Indonesian. We have the best nature, culture, people, and heritage. We produce many natural resources. Many travelers choose Indonesia as one of their holiday destination. Indonesia is a strong country with one condition, being managed well. Perhaps that is the main success key that we still need to learn.

To finish my small token of appreciation to Indonesia, I will share a very important song for the Indonesian. It’s called Indonesia Raya, our national anthem. May it always keep our spirit high and support us in good and bad times ahead.
