For you out there who loves video and voice chat, there is a new feature on Gmail for you. Gmail or GTalk now have the features of video and voice chat option right from your Gmail window. Now video chatting is as easy as instant messaging.

The official Gmail Blog mentioned about this new feature:

Just click on the new “Video & more” menu in a Gmail chat window and select “Start video chat” or “Start voice chat.” You can switch to a full screen view or pop out the chat window and change the size and positioning as you wish. Of course, not everyone has a webcam, but even if you don’t, you can still have voice conversations alongside your email and regular chat.

However, personally in my opinion for all the business calls, I think voice call using Skype is still better. Please test the video chat on Gmail for yourself first.

For the last month there is new great phenomena going on. Many webmaster, blogger and SEO master all around the globe is talking and discussing about it. I as someone who likes the internet (but not a master) also likes to get the feel from the wave of energy that is very strong at the moment.

Yes, I am talking about the Busby SEO Test contest that has been running for the last 40 days or so. A web based company from Perth, Australia is hosting its second SEO world cup. Many join in to feel the rush and learn new methods of search engine optimization.

My main intention in joining this contest is to make new friend and learn. That’s all. I don’t really see myself as a strong player to win this. And I also don’t consider myself as a guru or master. What I am doing with this SEO contest is purely just for fun. The only reason that eliminate the pressure and makes me happy

The funny side of doing some test like this is, some of other participant thinks that I know SEO knowledge more than. Some even call me a veteran in many kind of contest. Dude, really. I am not. I am also new in this same as many of you out there.

Currently leading the contest is kabonfootprint, next is dstudiobali. I heard they are both Indonesian and veterans in a seo competition.

Actually I had my doubts before if I should go on or just quit in the Busby test. But it is fun! So decided to go on with the show. As I mentioned before, I surely gain more new friends and information by doing it. No secret, no surprise. Just plain steps like the general thing to do.

For having a new President Barack Obama, I know that the American people have chosen and expected the right person to be on that seat.

You are a great nation ! You have many differences, you have many debates and arguments for the last 21 months. But once someone is elected, he is immediately accepted by all to be the President of everybody in the US. I personally envy you because of this capability and immediately united again.

My only hope that you all in the US work hard very soon together to make your economy better and powerful as it was years ago, because when you are sniffing the whole world get really sick and coughing economically.

President Obama had breathed Jakarta air and had eaten meat ball soup in Jakarta for quite some time, and I hope that will strengthen our ties and understanding to build better safety and peace for everyone.

What a pleasant surprise, last night I got a SMS from President Republic of Indonesia. It’s kind of strange, but it also made me proud. The message is one of the Indonesian anti drugs campaign.

Indonesia has had some problem of abusive drug usage in the past and the problem still runs until today. Thousands of young people have wasted their entire lives because drug abuse and usage in Indonesia. Most of them are victims of bad environment, broken family, curiosity or ignorance. The estimated illicit drug user has reached around 4 million, average of 1 person out of 50 Indonesian. In Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia is it estimated that 3 out of 10 young men are drug users.

In the SMS, the president reminds us not to use drug and avoid it as soon as possible. It is a positive statement to encourage all of us in Indonesia.

Narkoba menghancurkan masa depan generasi muda. Berhenti menggunakan narkoba sekarang juga. Jangan biarkan masa depan kalian gelap dan tanpa harapan.

To freely translate the president’s SMS:

Drug ruins young generation’s future. Stop using drug right now. Don’t let your future be dark and without hopes.

I do hope that this message deliver a strong and positive sign to all young Indonesian. And I also appreciate the president for such a move. To the young people, he reminded that they must not try to use any illicit drugs whatsoever, because once they try, they will be trapped and later become addicted, and the addiction will finally turn them into criminals or take their lives.

Perhaps there will be also a future support for creative young Indonesian that is participating in other great events such as the Asian Beach Games, Kuta karnival or the Busby SEO Test challenge. Or maybe support the blogger events such as the Pesta Blogger? We will see.

November is coming up soon, and it mean that the Pesta Blogger 2008 is ready to roll. Pesta Blogger is a national scale gathering event for all blogger in Indonesia. The first event was held last year on October 27, 2008 where Menkominfo Muhammad Nuh have declared as a National Blogger Day

So are you coming there? Or have you support the event? Me myself as a new blogger have not decided yet, as I will ask my friends from the Bali Blogger Community if they will join too. And also I have a question why this years Pesta Blogger failed to be held on the same date? But at least it is still being held right

It will be on November 22, 2008 and the theme is Blogging for Society. Indonesian government will also invite five foreign bloggers on a round trip to Yogyakarta and Bali as part of the Pesta Blogger 2008.

A friend of mine owns a McKremie, a web hosting in the United States. He offers great support and his servers all seem to be fast and reliable. What’s really cools is the fact that he just launched free web hosting for nonprofit organizations. It’s nice to see people giving back to the community and not just being greedy. Currently it’s only for 501(c) companies in the USA but he told me he has plans to expand it to other countries soon.

As you can see from some of the other bloggers they recommend McKremie for their good service and support. It’s easy to tell if a web hosting company is good or bad by just checking out the reviews for that company. It’s always a good sign when their are multiple people that are happy about their service.  If you search for some web host you will find lots of things that might warn you. I would recommend if you need hosting to compare the two plans they have to offer. The Standard Plan is a great price and even better deal if you pay yearly for it.

One last thing that might make it good to look into hosting with McKremie is the fact that they accept Paypal. This is very nice for those of us that keep most of our business money in our Paypal accounts. It’s also much easier to send a Paypal payment than to pay with a credit card or send a check in the mail.

Bali Blogger Community or well know as BBC is a community of web log user or daily journal in the internet. At present there are 211 members of BBC that are spread in many cities in Indonesia and abroad. Members of BBC is bond by the feeling they have towards Bali.

The Bali Blogger are supporting and participating in the 6th Kuta Karnival. The three events that BBC is organizing are the Blogger Day Out on October 18, Blog Contest from October 13 until 31, and the BBC booth and workshop daily on Kuta Beach from October 19 until 26.

On the second day of the first ever Asian Beach Games, there are some medals won. And at the moment home side, Indonesia is leading with 6 gold medals.

I have the opportunity to participate in the games. As you know I love surfing but this time I am not in the surfing team. I am playing the un-official game of sand castle building…

But the effect that we have because of this great multi event of Asian Beach Games and the Kuta Karnival is that we are experiencing traffic jam everywhere.

One of the event that is going on now in Kuta is the annual Kuta Karnival. This year it is the 6th Karnival and as previous events, they have got all type of things going on at Kuta Beach.

Kuta Karnival will be held October 18 - 26, 2008, there will be fun filled schedule of concerts, sports, food, and drink along the entire length of Bali’s most popular beachfront.

And in regards to the Kuta Karnival, Bali Blogger Community working closely with the Karnival organizer is helding a Blog Competition. There will be cash prizes and thropies for the top 3 winners. The theme of the contest is: Kuta Karnival and Bali Tourism

This is a great weekend. Although the days are super hot lately here in Bali but we all are happy. There are two things that I wanted to take notes on this wonderful Sunday. First will be on my next post regarding the first ever Asian Beach Games that just started yesterday and the second is about the competition called the Busby SEO Test games.

I will elaborate the second issue first then.

It is already day 19 of the SEO testing challenge and there are many great participants joining. But to my astonishment when checking the SERP result on the search engine using the mentioned key phrase, I have found out that there are so many Indonesian players. There are names that I know before but also lots of new comers that are trying their skills.

So how did this started…? I have never joined any SEO contest before like many others, but suddenly there are floods of willingness to try in this kind of test.

Perhaps since that the last challenge was won by my friend team from Bali, it has boosted the spirit of other SEO masters and persons to give their best too.

My goal in joining games like this is still to make new friends. And somehow I can see many Indonesian are doing the same. So since it is a great day today, I just want to give out links from my simple blog to all Indonesian participants out there. Imagine if all of us are in the same team, just how unbeatable are we…!!!
