Indonesian Olympic gold medal tradition is still on. Last night the men’s badminton doubles, Markis Kido / Hendra Setiawan won the gold Bejing Olympic medal. They defeated home team Fu Haifeng / Cai Yun in the Beijing University of Gymnasium.

The success puts out loud that Indonesia is not just a spectator in the world largest event. Red and White can be raise higher that outher flag and for the first time Kabonfootprint hears Indonesia Raya the national anthem played in Beijing.

This winning is dedicated for Indonesia that is celebrating its 63th birthday. Another independence present for all Indonesian people. Kabonfootprint have noted this gold medal is the third from men’s doubles in the Indonesian Olympic history so far.

Before Rexy Mainaky / Ricky Subagja (1996) and Tony Gunawan / Candra Wijaya (2000) also won the Olympic gold medal. This is now the 6th badminton gold since Barcelona. Indonesia still have some chance to reach another gold from mix doubles that will play today against South Korean couple at the finals.

Kido and Hendra fight to get this gold medal was not easy. They lost the first game after they made many mistakes. But they came back strong on the second and last game. Kabonfootprint really enjoy watching the live game coverage. Now the Chinese team ambition to sweep the entire gold medal have vanished.

This is sure a great news from Beijing Olympic that have started since last 08 08 08 and a super present for Indonesian independence day that we all are celebrating today.
