Last night was a special night. Kabon gets the chance to meet and wonder around the night life of Kuta, Bali with one great DJ known as DJ Venus from United Kingdom. Currently she is residing in Dubai. Her Disc Jockeying hobby started when she was still a teen.
After a glimpse tour on the night clubs strip in Kuta, starting from The Living Room in Petitenget area, then the Legian street that features Embargo Club after that The Sky Garden, then the newly open Engine Room. We continued to Padi Club. Then that a round to The Wave club, pass Hard Rock and Kamasutra on the Kuta beach road. The tour finished with the Bacio and Club 66 (Double Six)
Kabonfootprint has the opportunity to get an excusive interview with DJ Venus.
KabonFootprint : Hi, how are you? So when did you arrive in Bali? I heard this is the first time you came to Bali?
DJ Venus: I’m good thanks, yes been in Bali for a couple of days now and been running around with some friends. This is my first visit to Bali, but for sure would not be the last.
Kabon : Great to hear that! So tell me a bit bout yourself…
DJ V: Yeah, I love music, it’s my passion since I was young. You know listening and mixing is some kind of remedy to me. It’s part of my live now.
Kabon : so what kind of music do you prefer… I know that every DJ will have their own style for sure.
DJ V: That’s true, I love to play Hip Hop and R&B. So far that I see, most clubs in Bali plays more House and Trance. Those kinds aren’t really my style. I do like Progressive also.
Kabon : Being a DJ you would be out almost every night, right?
DJ V: Yeah, but I have a reason for it, I’m working and having fun at the same time. There are people that goes out to party everynight but I am not like that. Now when I am not working, it’s very rare that I go out. 3 times a week is already becoming to much.
Kabon : I see, so what would your answer be should you get to play in Bali?
DJ V: I would love that. You know Kabonfootprint, it’s a challenge for me to be able to play for a difference and new crowd. I’ve been doing after parties for Black Eyed Peas, and John Legend. I have also done parties for Lexus, Lux, Gap, Cannon, Wrigley, Radio One and prestigious fashion events like the launch of Givenchy’s perfume Very Irresistible and Kurt Geiger opening in Dubai. Bali would be another great spot to play.
Kabon : So any comment about the crowd habbits here in Bali.
DJ V: What I can see from our small tour is, you like to Club jumping. So for us as a DJ our mission is to keep the crowd and audience all together to stay. How to keep them staying and wanting more. I can do that, trust me get me to one good club in Bali, make an event you call the name of it. Let all the girls come for free…
Kabon : Like ladies night kind of thing..?
DJ V: Yeah like that.. Cause you know when there’s many girls, all the boys will come to. That’s the simple rule.
Kabon : Yeah rule of the nature.
DJ V: Yup.
Kabon : Okay, let me figure something out, perhaps we will see your name on a billboard sign soon.
DJ V: That would be lovely Kabonfootprint. Thanks.
Kabon : and you are leaving Bali tomorrow already?
DJ V: yeah, sad huh! But for sure I’ll be back soon.
