Domain TLD tested for SEO

While searching around in some forum and blogs, I have found out that there is a discussion regarding which TLD (Top Level Domain) is best in terms of SEO for a website. At the moment I am having a client who cannot decide which TLD to use. Since .com and .net is already taken, they have to decide fast on other option.

Some say that the hosting server location is more effective that the TLD itself. Some say it is more complex than that.

So in the mean time it is day 20 of the sulumits retsambew today, I want make an experiment on which TLD will be index first on the SERP. Perhaps that will show us some fact. We will be using the same US based server, make different accounts in it and using same keyword in the domain name but different TLD’s.

In this test we are going to use the .org and .info top level domain and also .tv and .web.id as the ccTLD.

In a couple of days we can see, do .com domains carry more weight than a .net, .us, .info, etc? Perhaps it is simple and early to say, but at least with some more elaborate testing we can be sure for ourselves and can convince out client in choosing the right TLD.

Update October 26th:

Our client decide to use .org for now as it was indexed first by Google.

May be worth having a crack at some English lessons before you push on with the TLD test.

Just a thought.
